Review

Wow, this is the first time I gave below a 4-star rating for a Black Dagger Brotherhood book. I can't explain my reasoning either. I just did not click with this one as much as the others. When I first started reading it, everything from their mannerisms and the way they talked, was getting on my nerves. It's like that in every other book though, so I don't understand it. Not to mention that the storyline wasn't as good as they normally are, in my opinion anyway. This doesn't mean that I will stop reading these books. Obviously, it was still a good story, just not what I am used to.
I need to mention that these books are not for the faint of heart. When we look into the pasts of some of the brothers, there is torture and abuse. Vishous's story is no different, although there were things revealed about him that I didn't see coming.
I just can't seem to get on board with the whole Jane thing either. It doesn't seem fair (to Vishous) that the other Shellan's all turned out fine but then Jane gets the short end of the stick. I normally really like all things ghost related, but I just don't see it fitting in here.
Maybe it will get better as the series progresses. I am anxious to read more about John Matthew...I can't wait to see what is discovered about him. I have a clue, but I want to see it all come together.
I would still recommend Lover Unbound to BDB fans and fans of the paranormal.
