Review

Giving this book three stars was actually a difficult decision. I was going back and forth between two and three. The storyline was really good, I liked the concept. I really liked how the author worked in Mother Leeds and the legend of the Jersey Devil...just because I like legends and it somehow fit right in the middle of all these witches and shifters. However, when I was reading some of the dialogue between Caleb and Hannah, I was thinking that it felt like an afterschool special. You know, because they have really detailed explanations for kids to understand. And Hannah felt more like a preteen girl to me than a college age woman. I loved all the paranormal-ness of it (yes, I just made up a word) but I was disappointed because this could have been an outstanding story and I felt like things were happening too fast and it was missing something that I can't quite put my finger on.
