I believe this is the first full length novel involving mermaids and selkies that I've read, and I really liked it. Which is not a surprise considering I love paranormal romance. This is the second book in the series, but it can easily be read as a stand alone. The Baba Yaga in this book, Beka (the youngest of the three American-based Baba's), is doubting her ability to complete her first assignment or even continue to be a Baba Yaga. The charming, but evil, Kesh (a selkie prince), uses that weakness to try and stop her from keeping her promise to the merpeople and the selkies. Good things she's got a tough ex-marine watching her back. I wasn't quite as immersed in this book as I was the first in the series, but it was still a really, really good book. Once again, the writing style was easy going, the plot was great, and the characters were interesting. One of my favorite parts of the book was when Beka realized her worth. Enjoyable and easy to read. Recommended for paranormal romance lovers!
