Pretending Hearts - Heather Topham Wood

Love didn't have to equal pain. Love could wash away the pain and open up the way for a new beginning.

Pretending Hearts is the second book in the Falling for Autumn series. It can easily be read as a standalone. Blake's sister Brie gets her shot at love in this story. A chance she didn't think she wanted. She had been told, by her mother, from a young age to marry for security, not love. Love only leaves you with a broken heart.

Brie and Levi's first meeting doesn't make you think anything will happen between them. Even though Brie really opens up to him, which surprises her because he's a complete stranger and she's used to playing a role. I was glad when things ended with her and Wyatt. It was a bad situation that caused them to split, but he showed his true colors.

I loved this book just as much as the first one! Heather Wood brings up issues that are hard to handle and opens up so many emotions within the reader. There were a couple of parts that had my mouth falling open, and caused me to speed read because I could not wait to find out what happened.

Highly recommended New Adult read!
